Hmmm....it is Tuesday isn't it? :)
Cool my long wait is over. Nice with the bump in ram and FW800 (yes!). :)
Bummer that theres no 7200rpm HD on 15" and gosh darn it getting hit again with the lame video cards.
Oh, well you never get everything...I'll be ordering a 15" soon. Hopefully it wont be a lap burner.
Am very happy with the RAM but OMG, is it expensive (590 in Belgium)
Bought it anyways. Would like to find out if I swap that second dimm out for a 2GB, would it run at 4GB of RAM? Any takers?

I originally waited for the white version (back when it was only delayed until "late summer".) but once September rolled around, I just decided to wait until the 5 came out. With the rumors of the 5 being delayed until fall, I might have to seriously consider some backup plans. I'd prefer to stick with an iPhone, but the 3GS is getting long in the tooth and I will not sign a contract for outdated hardware.
Ditto.
This is my story EXACTLY! :(

Actually it is because a 2 year old iPhone is better than any Android device out there.
We all know the iPhone 4 is streets ahead of any other smartphone, but the 3GS provides a superior experience as well. It is not about spec sheets, it is about performance, software, reliability and the rest.
Only in the minds of the mindless.

Not sure I understand, I've had 4G on my Evo for over a year now...
Hrm....
That is on sprint so it's WiMax, not LTE.

Good news but I wonder what the scope of the reprisals will be?
This does not look good for Pakistan/ ISI who just made a big deal about getting the US prescience out of the tribal region/ Pakistan. Wouldn't be surprised to learn that the senior leadership at ISI was trying to shield him.
ABC News is reporting that US boots on the ground were responsible for the kill. It'll be interesting to learn where exactly he was killed.

How are they different? They are both round with a 3D look and have a triangle with the same alignment and angles in the middle. They even perform the same function, to start playback of media content. Are you really going to nitpick about the colors? That's not different enough, Apple should definetely sue.
If you clear your cache and refresh, you'd see the image you are hotlinking to isn't displaying. ;)
Its just a low res image saying go to "my digital life". I think that's what Olly is getting at. :D

Here we have a PDA device - virtual keyboard, gesture recognition, etc. with a strong possibility of direct connection to the internet (sans computer).
Imagine your in a cafe with friends, some one says hey have you heard this song...? you go online (itunes) right there (wifi) access the song and load it up to your device - pop it into a new play list, rate it etc.
Apple can remove a big barrier of complexity (computer) by making it all in one simple ipod-like device. So there is pobably an entire market strategy with itunes store, etc that extends from this new device. i just bet ya...

Could someone clarify this for me: Aren't hard drives too slow to make use of Thunderbolt anyway? In a typical USB 2.0 external hard drive, what is the bottleneck in speed: The speed at which the hard drive spins, or the USB 2.0 connection? If it's the USB, then why do people even care about the RPM of a drive? If it's the RPM, then isn't USB 2.0 fast enough to run a hard drive at its native speed?
Look forward to thunderbolt hub. USB 3.0, esata and a DisplayPort daisy chain.
What he said. You can get adaptors for different things, plus daisy chain multiple devices together. One device may not be able to use the whole TB bandwidth, but if you add a bunch of accessories to the same port, it'll add up. Right now, the only single device that might be able to utilize the whole bandwidth would be a RAID array and other high-end stuff. But as SSDs come more common & speed up, we'll see TB being more useful. This definitely won't happen overnight, no matter how much some of us might hope.

Once again, the iMac packs more processing power than the Mac Pro. (Even if you have a single hex-core.)
For perhaps a month before the Mac Pros are released at WWDC.

I'd love it if they got the bezel that small. Especially if the overall size of the phone didn't change much. Hope it happens.

Love how some people are calling a mock up down before these recent rumors ugly and calling apple out on it. If the rumors are true it won't look anything like this.

"Warning for losing Form data"
They've got my money :D (And Firefox-style Find!)
And I really have to believe that the old metal look will be gone in the end, replaced by the new iTunes look.
Current theme count for the record:
* White aqua (with three different toolbar styles: old, unified/no-line, and little-icons-on-gray-pills like Mail)
* Textured metal
* Smooth metal (iTunes)
* Dashboard (non-aqua sliders)
* Black bezel (like the floating controls in iPhoto)
* Pro aqua (gray with thinner title bars--Final Cut etc.)
* EDIT: new "quick look (http://guides.macrumors.com/Image:leopardquicklook.png)" theme?
All of those are used by multiple apps. There are also special variations like GarageBand, but those are fun and not objectionable to me.
EDIT: Actually, none of the above are objectionable to me--they have their uses--just so we get down to ONE metal look instead of two :) And my vote for best toolbar is the big icons (not gray pills), but in the unified/no-line format. Just like Tiger's System Preferences. (Not like Mail, not like Safari Preferences.) But it looks like the gray pill thing is spreading in Leopard. I can deal... just make it more consistent.
Don't get me started on all the different kinds of non-icon toolbar buttons that appear in metal apps :) Some look like glass, some like metal, etc.....

So we have...
-A few porn stars
-A Ferrari
-A briefcase of cocaine
-Excessive alcohol consumption
-A $30,000 check to a porn star
...how is this any different than 'Two and a Half Men'?
I love this man.
yeah, awesome bro....that is, if your idea of the 'net begins & ends with /b/

Yes, and even I think this is weird, on two levels. One is the "watching her eat". The other is paying for the privilege. These guys could hang out at a mall food court or a Super Wal-Mart with an onsite restaurant and get their jollies for free on pretty much any given day.
Or just go to www.peopleofwalmart.com :D
I wonder what website the people who are in peopleofwalmart.com go to to make fun of people?

They should really keep the teardrop design to the Air.. it wouldn't really fit the iPhone, which is a phone after all. If that were a true design to come, I wonder just how awkward holding it could be.
Bigger displays are always welcome. I was already going to get an iP5 (got a BB Bold) anyway. Awesome for screen size, not so much for the design.. which seems suspiciously thin.

The real question is - will the back lit keyboard be reintroduced? I sure hope so. Couldn't care less about gaming but I want to see what I type in a meeting room (and don't get started with the whole "learn to type" BS)...

The very least the staff should have done is to have protected the victim as best they could, and stayed with the victim during the seizure. It looks real enough to me, and I've seen plenty.
The sad thing is they are basically trained to not get involved. It's a sad world we live in. If I were that girl I would sue McDonald's for such an inhuman policy, someone should as these sort of policies are just sick.
