I had battery drain with 4.3.1 until I turned off Ping and restarted my phone. Since then, good battery life.
Same. Might just be a plecebo effect, but whatever...

I had a little time on my hands and did an experiment to create reverse-ordered lists using css (http://paularmstrongdesigns.com/weblog/css/reverse-ordered-lists). Read about them and check the source of the example page. I'm looking for comments/critiques on the way it is done, (not the validity of doing so).
Thanks.
Thanks.

so as android phones accelerate the pace of innovation with lte, nfc, larger screens, etc. etc., apple decides to slow down the pace of innovation? what the hell is your problem apple?!
A well put 60 billion Dollar question. NOT!
They do things their way, looks like it's working for them:-)
What proof do you have that Apple is slowing down it's innovation?
Not on your time schedule? Not your specs?
Screen size,? May they don't want to make a bigger one?
Some of what you mention isn't even ready for prime time yet!

That's a strange mystery as I've never heard of anything like that. Did you call Apple Care? I think that's your best bet. They should be able to help out with a strange mystery like that.

I have one of these (http://us.kensington.com/html/1743.html). I would like to trade it for one of these (http://us.kensington.com/html/5566.html). I'm not a big fan of mice with batteries and don't really need the wireless, so I was just wondering if someone would be willing to trade. Mouse is in excellent condition, barely used. It will be a straight up trade, no cash added on your end. :)

btw, whats the verdict on ram coolers? yes/no
IMO yes, esp. copper ones. I've bought some of these (http://shop.conrad-uk.com/1/2-a2-uk0871057__akasa-memory-cooler-copper-ak-171-.html). On clearance it was for about 2 per 1 stick set.

Christ, talk about disconnect. Raising the bar, huh? "Yessir, here are your regular talking points. Cards 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 are all the same. The man on stage is Steve Jobs. You met about two years ago about a new phone...he's vendor now. Good luck, sir."

The thing is, all these games are available for free online for your mac. I suppose if you want to play them on your ipad or phone that's one thing. If that doesn't matter, you can get your nostalgia for free. Same goes for NES, Coleco, Super NES, and Genesis emulators.

What Apple needs to do is establish the "normal" rights a user gets when they buy a video. Of course every Disney film will come with the normal, default rights. Then if another studio wants to sell a video with different rights attached iTunes should clearly label the video in big red letters as being "crippled with restrictive usage rights" Then a pop-up dialog box should appear that explains this and asks "Do you really want this crap are would you prefer we mailed you the DVD copy" Finally after reading the warning label and clicking yes in the pop up you can download the film.
In my opinion the whole argument is moot. The video quality is so low I would never buy it.

Microsoft is rock solid?
Let's see, as a 15 year IT worker who has supported many MS environments, I have been yanked out of bed at 2am 3 times because "new" viruses that the Anti-Virus software didn't even know about, had brought down hundreds of machines on the network, and had even brought down routers and switches.
I think the $100,000 we might spend on IPS/IDS blades for all the core switches to analyze the traffic coming from Windows machines might be better spent if we just put Macs in the network and maybe stick a free Snort box in there as an after thought.
Companies spend millions just keeping their Windows machines in line -thank about it. MS has never been serious about security.
Very Very interesting point. AntiVirus contracts/solutions (or lack there OF) is VERY costly as a day to day part of operations and productivity. YES Microsoft is part of the problem, but all these rogue developers trying to bring down microsoft & other corporations are also part of the problem.
I'm VERY interested to see just how much storage space virii definitions take up both on workstations & on server just in the drive to security & uptime.
Is it NOT AMAZING that in the last 20yrs we've come so far with regards to computing?!

Like most of you, my knowledge of Notes is about 10 years out of date, so I had a look at the wikithing
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_Notes
Hmm, interesting read. Seems lots of updates recently. Gone from 43 million to 120 million users in the last few years. Quite impressive database based multi-channel document handling and communication app. Useful replication of databases so that work can be done offline, and updated when next online.
Lots of gotchas tho, see the criticisms in the article. Notable that they only implemented a number-of-unread-emails count in the 2003 edition.
