Kristin’s merry as sis in ‘Four Christmases’

t’s easy to see why Kristin Chenoweth was cast as Reese Witherspoon’s sister in “Four Christmases.”

Chenoweth plays Courtney, the married mother who continues her sibling rivalry with Reese’s single, childless Kate. Courtney delights in telling Kate’s boyfriend (Vince Vaughn) about her reputation as Cootie Kate in grade school and about her sister’s fat childhood.
The two petite blondes look so much alike, it sometimes confuses their fans.

“I used to get stopped all the time and would hear, ‘Are you on “West Wing”?’ I was like, ‘No,’ ” said Witherspoon, who finally met the Broadway, film and TV actress at an awards show.





“I realized I had seen her in ‘Wicked’ and so I was like, ‘Oh, wouldn’t it be fun if we got to play sisters?’ And turns out she’s just the sweetest, nicest little country girl from Oklahoma. So when this came up, we asked her to do the movie and she said yes,” Witherspoon said.
